Characteristics
A small fish with five horizontal stripes on its white body. The fifth is short at the base of the caudal fin. There is also a black band running through the eye. The back and dorsal fin are yellow, and the tip of the dorsal fin is jagged. The caudal fin is deeply notched. Grows up to 20 cm.
Ecology
In addition to inhabiting shallow water reefs and coral reefs, small juvenile fish can also be seen in tide pools. It can also be found around drifting algae near the surface of the sea.It is omnivorous and eats things attached to rocks.
Habitat
Miura Peninsula Arasaki
Taken in the sea of Arasaki. There were many individuals of about 10 cm, but there was a school of juvenile fish on the rocks in the shallow water. A large individual was watching over the young fish.When the tide is high, they enter the tide pools, and there are also many near the sea surface near the waves.
