A type of butterflyfish with a long, narrow snout and square body. The body is yellow even behind the eyes, the upper part of the face is black (dark brown), and the lower part is white. The boundary between white and black passes through the center of the eye. There is a single black spot on the anal fin.
Inhabits coral reefs in tropical seas. It eats small animals such as crustaceans attached to rocks using its long, narrow mouth.
Taken during a coral reef dive. It seemed to be foraging by pecking rocks. It looked a little bigger than other butterflyfish.
