Characteristics

A stone moth with a pale yellow color and fine black spots. The black spots are evenly distributed along the wings and evenly spaced along the wings. The male's tentacles are pectinate. It perches with its wings spread wide, and its silhouette looks like a butterfly at first glance.

Ecology

Occurs twice in early and late summer. Individuals in early summer are larger. The larvae eat leaves of broadleaf trees such as birch and fagaceae, and adults suck nectar.

Habitat

Early in the morning, I found it in the forest of Minami Asakawa-cho. It looked like a butterfly. They perched on the undersides of leaves to mate. The black spots spread like vanilla on the wings of the color of the bellflower.
