A fish of the family Scyllidae, it grows to about 3 cm in length. Its brown body is covered with white or light brown markings. The markings resemble a turtle shell. The head is flat, but becomes taller toward the back of the body. There is an orange eye ring around the eye.
It inhabits shallow reefs. It lurks in the shade of rocks and stays motionless near sea urchins.
I discovered it in the shallow rocks of Arasaki. I peered under a rock a few meters deep and shone a light on it, finding it motionless behind a sea urchin.
Other Scyllidae fish can be seen in Arasaki, but the Narrow-Bowed Fish is the most flashy in appearance.
