Ecology

Distributed from rocks to shallow seabeds. It eats seaweed and small aquatic animals. It is sometimes seen on the island. It has poison in its body derived from its food.

Habitat

Miura Peninsula Arasaki

I found it sitting still among the sea urchins on the shore of Arasaki. I was able to easily photograph it, even though it moved slowly along the rocky shore. The carapace pattern was distinctive.
