Ecology

It can be found on rocky areas where shallow water waves hit. It has a territory and tries to stay in the same place.

Habitat

I took a picture of him alone in a shallow rocky place in Arasaki. He seems to like the rock quite a bit, and has been going back and forth to the same place for a long time.

Arasaki, Miura Peninsula

Found in early August on a day with high tides.

Two of them were stationed on rocks near the water's surface. They kept hiding and popping out behind sea urchins. They were relatively inquisitive and easy to photograph.
