Characteristics
Body length is about 20 mm. The slender body has dark blue vertical stripes. The antennae are orange or red, which combines beautifully with the body color.
The mouth is white with a brown to orange tip. The edges of the mantle are yellow.
Ecology
They can be found on shallow reefs. They are easy to spot when they are on sponges or seaweed because of their bright colors.
Habitat
Miura Peninsula, Arasaki
Photographed on a reef at a depth of 1-2m in Arasaki. In the summer of 2024, they were the second most commonly seen after the centipede sea slug.
Most were blue, but some were gray.
