Characteristics

A small shrimp with red stripes running like a geometric pattern on its translucent body. Red legs and brown eyes. Apart from the red streaks, there is a part that reflects bluish-white when it receives light. The forehead is elongated.

Ecology

It lives in the shade of shallow reefs and eats creatures attached to other fish. Even if you find it in a crevice between rocks, if you are careful, it will enter the back. Sometimes there are several.

I took this picture when I was in the shadow of a rock at a depth of about 2m. It seemed to stick to the wall and stay still. It seems that other small fish such as sawfish are also favorite rock shades, and it may be that there are many white shrimps because it is a place where fish gather.
