Characteristics

A grasshopper that looks like a female piggybacking a A tsuyumushi with streaks running from the top of its head to its back. When viewed from above, a brown streak extends from behind the eye. Body color is light green or brown. Males and females differ in appearance, with females being more robust.

Ecology

Inhabits flat grasslands and near forests. Adults emerge from June to summer. It eats the leaves and fruits of plants.

Habitat

Grass along the Sakai River

I took a picture of the place where I was on the grass on the cycling road along the Sakai River. When viewed from directly above, brown streaks as the name suggests could be confirmed.
