Katsugen Pass - Enrei Oshiro Park Line

It was snowing lightly from the morning.

I made a trip to Okaya City, Nagano Prefecture, to see Japanese Grosbeaks. I couldn't find any Japanese Grosbeaks, but I was able to see Yellow-throated Buntings and Long-tailed Rosefinches. There were many photographers aiming for Eurasian Bullfinches.

I left the station around 5:30 a.m. and headed for Katsugen Pass. It was snowing.

There were many Meadow Buntings near the observation deck.

Male Yellow-throated Bunting

A Yellow-throated Bunting appeared near the parking lot of the observation deck. It stayed on the same branch for a few minutes.

Male Long-tailed Rosefinch

Long-tailed Rosefinches were chirping quite a bit. There were also females, but I only saw the male.
