How to distinguish black seabream and gilthead seabream
Black sea bream and gilthead sea bream are very similar. The black sea bream can be distinguished from the red sea bream by its pointed mouth.
Ecology
Found in shallow coasts, estuaries and brackish waters. In summer, they come to very shallow water and eat anything, including small fish and crustaceans. Moves to deeper water in winter. Males transform into females as they grow.
Habitat
Arasaki
A flock of about 10 fish gathered on rocks at a depth of about 4m in Arasaki and foraged. If you approach it straight, it will run away, so I dived in advance and hid behind a rock and took a picture of the place where I came close.
The flat body looks rather large.
