Characteristics
A deciduous broad-leaved tree of the leguminous family that blooms pink thread-like flowers. The flowers bloom in clusters like a capitulum, and are gorgeous. It smells sweet.It got its Japanese name from the way the leaves close up and droop at night. It bears elongated bean-shaped fruit.
Ecology
In addition to growing naturally in sunny mountain forests and riverbanks south of Honshu, it is also appreciated as a garden tree. It blooms pink flowers from June to July.Sleeping motion that opens and closes leaves according to time.

June morning
I took this photo on a sunny morning in between the rainy season. Next to the housing complex, there was a silk tree with many flowers blooming. The flowers that change from white to pink towards the tip are gorgeous.
