Mt. Imakuma

The blue-and-white flycatchers were singing from morning.

I went to Mt. Imakuma to observe summer birds. Many summer birds such as blue-and-white flycatchers and Japanese thrushes appeared. I also saw a grey bunting.

Blue-and-white flycatcher

Many blue-and-white flycatchers were singing in the forest below Mt. Imakuma. I also saw males fighting over females.

Eastern crowned warbler

An eastern crowned warbler was singing by the side of the forest road.

It showed itself from between the leaves.

Asian brown flycatcher

An Asian brown flycatcher was singing vigorously on a branch in the sun. I didn't see any other individuals, so it seems their numbers aren't that high.

Grey bunting

I could hear a "tchick tchick" sound from the bushes. After waiting quietly, a grey bunting appeared.

Japanese luehdorfia

I only saw Japanese luehdorfias at the entrance to the forest. I didn't see many other butterflies.
