Water Rails and Red-legged Crakes showed up frequently.
It was a fine weather day, and I was able to see many birds in a short amount of time. In particular, Water Rails and Red-legged Crakes showed themselves many times.
There were several Little Grebes at the Kamikawahara Weir.
A Great Crested Grebe was also floating far from the shore. One of them was not very wary and came close to the shore.
There were many American Wigeons and Eurasian Coots at the water's edge. Many individuals were foraging at the weir.
The Gadwalls were relaxing several tens of meters further away than the American Wigeons. They were a bit more cautious.
The area around the water's edge seems to be the territory of this male Daurian Redstart.
A Red-legged Crake came out from the shade of the blocks. It showed itself frequently even during the day on this day.
A Japanese Bush Warbler perched on a branch near the water's surface.
When I went to the same waterside in the evening, a Water Rail was walking.
