It visits wetlands, rice fields, rivers, etc. as a migratory bird along with the Tounen. It preys on insects, annelids, and other animal matter near water.
Habitat
Tama River midstream
I photographed an individual that flew to the Tama River midstream in autumn. Together with another Red-streaked Greyhound, it was wandering around the shallows, foraging. It wasn't in a group, but seemed to be alone. It didn't seem to be very wary of humans.
