Northern Wheatears were everywhere.
I observed from Katakura Castle Ruins Park to Tochiyato Park. There were Northern Wheatears everywhere. The male in Tochiyato Park allowed me to observe it from quite close.
A male Northern Wheatear was singing on the treetop standing in the middle of the pond in Katakura Castle Ruins Park.
A Common Kingfisher came to the pond.
The upper plaza was bustling with mixed flocks of Japanese Tits and Long-tailed Tits.
A Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker joined the mixed flock.
I moved to Tochiyato Park and continued observing. The vacant lot next to the park had begun to be leveled. There was a pair of Northern Wheatears. Near the pond, I encountered the male at a distance of about 3 meters.
There was a Japanese Giant Mantis on the stairs to the park exit.
When I went down to the Yudono River, the usual Common Moorhen was there.
There was a Common Sandpiper on the small weir in front of Inari Shrine.
There were many Common Kingfishers along the river today as well.
