Katano Castle Ruins Park: Hawfinch Flock and Chinese Grosbeak

There were over 300 Hawfinches.

I took a walk in Katakura Castle Ruins Park this morning. Perhaps because it's the migratory season, it felt different than usual.

There was a large flock of Hawfinches in the upper plaza of the park.

A Japanese Green Woodpecker landed on the Hawfinch tree.

A Japanese Bush Warbler was singing. It's not very good yet.

Chinese Grosbeak

I thought it was a Japanese Greenfinch, but it was a Chinese Grosbeak. It's the first time I've seen it in Katakura Castle Ruins Park.

When I went down to the Yudono River, there was a Daurian Redstart.
